Indiamap was founded in early 1999 after the successful development and launch of leading Indian information portal Indiamap.com. Indiamap.com was one of the early movers in the Indian portal space and soon established a loyal viewership through its informative web directory, daily headlines and range of information spread across sections including Business, Development, Government, Investment & Travel. During the run up to the general elections in 1999, Indiamap was first off the mark and soon became the leading news and statistics provider to interested followers of the elections. A number of analysts and popular political leaders contributed to the features and thought content on the elections section.
